Dancia International Sussex Young Dancer of the Year
Our new class introduced in 2016: soloists are selected by the adjudicator for the Junior (11 years and under) and Senior (12-18 years) Sussex Festival Dancer of the Year where they will be invited to perform two contrasting solos of their own choice in any genre. This class will take place on the final day of the festival. Our Adjudicator will select a Winner and a Runner Up from each age category and they will be announced during our Prizegiving ceremony.

Gibraltar International Festival Award
Each year a dancer is selected by the Adjudicator to take part in the Gibraltar International Festival in February or March. Travel and accommodation expenses for the dancer and a parent/teacher are all paid for by the Festival. This is an exciting opportunity for dancers to experience a cultural exchange. In return, Gibraltar International Festival send a dancer from their festival to take part in Sussex Festival each year.

The Harriet Holliday Award
Each year we ask our Adjudicator to select a dancer or dancers to receive this award. This may be selected from any performance during sessions at Roedean Theatre and can be chosen for promise, entertainment value or any special quality that the Adjudicator wishes.

The Pebble Trust Award
Dancers and Singers taking part in the Festival, and living within the Brighton and Hove postcode area, can apply for a Bursary Award of £500. The money can be used for lessons, costumes, audition expenses etc. Please email me if you would like to be considered for this award: joarnett@sussexfestival.co.uk - you will need to give full details about your dance and/or singing training, results from festivals, any other information about your successes, and whether you are in need of financial help to continue your training. The Trustees of the Festival and Pebble Trust will select the recipient of this award.

The Louisa Jarvis Award
This will be awarded to the dancer showing promise in Ballet from all the Ballet Solo Classes in all age groups and will be selected by the Adjudicator.

Junior Division Solo
Classes 10 Years & Under
Highest mark shields will be awarded to the dancer gaining the highest solo mark in each discipline from the age groups within the Junior Division. In the event of a tie this will be awarded to the Adjudicators choice.

Senior Division Solo
Classes 11 Years & Over
Highest mark shields will be awarded to the dancer gaining the highest solo mark in each discipline from the age groups within the Senior Division. In the event of a tie this will be awarded to the Adjudicators choice.

Duet Classes
Highest mark shields will be awarded to the duet gaining the highest overall mark in each of the Junior Duet sections, Intermediate Duet sections and Senior Duet sections. In the event of a tie this will be awarded to the Adjudicators choice.

Trio/Quartet Classes
Highest mark shields will be awarded to the trio/quartet gaining the highest overall mark in each of the Junior Trio/Quartet sections, Intermediate Trio/Quartet sections and Senior Trio/Quartet sections. In the event of a tie this will be awarded to the Adjudicators choice.

Group Classes
Each Group class winner will receive a Cup, which is to be retained by the School for one year.
Small Group class winners receive a shield for the school to keep.
